HIFU Dermalogica Rejuvenating Facial
HIFU Dermalogica Rejuvenating Facial
Though there are many non-surgical face treatments which can effectively target the top layers of the skin (the superficial dermis), HIFU is unique in its ability to target focus points at multiple depths beneath the surface, including the dermis, right down the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system), which is the layer adjusted by surgeons during a traditional facelift. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), also known as ‘Ultrasound Facelift’ is firmly becoming one of the most popular non invasive treatments in Ireland rejuvenating the face, neck and décolleté areas.
Unlike some other invasive treatments, a HIFU facial is much more affordable, which is why it is becoming increasingly popular.
Combined with Dermalogica prescriptive facial and hydrabrasion technology this treatment brings results of rejuvenated, nourished and glowing skin. Presence of first signs of premature ageing is reduced and the skin looks rehydrated and fresh. This treatment is ideal for clients looking to get rehydrated and healthy looking without going for the invasive route just as of yet.

How it Works
The applicator uses multiple focused beams of ultrasound energy which allows the beams to pass through multiple layers. Individually, these beams have no effect on the skin or the layers beneath it. When the beams converge on a targeted point, they create a nodal point of thermal energy which contracts the underlying muscle and facilitates collagen regrowth. As a result, the face tightens, and signs of aging are reduced.
HIFU FACE utilizes ultrasonic energy to penetrate deep below the skin and fat layer of the face to gently but effectively target connective tissue. Connective tissue is a firm, tough layer that supports the neck and facial contours. Ageing and the passage of time causes connective tissues to droop. High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound tightens loose connective tissue, creating firmness and lifting to areas of sagging skin. The layer of tissue targeted is the same tissue that a plastic surgeon tightens and shifts during a surgical facelift or brow lift.
HIFU Body offers a real natural alternative to liposuction or surgery. In most cases only one treatment is required to achieve the desired results with no downtime. HIFU body sculpting is a non-invasive treatment for removing stubborn body fat, skin toning and tightening.
Body Sculpting treatments with the HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) penetrates through the surface of the skin to deliver precise and fractional focused ultrasound energy, into the fat layer of the skin (@ 6.0 & 8.0mm – underarm / back areas and 13.0 & 16.0 mm for the abdomen, buttocks, thigh areas), and at the right temperature (60~70°C), without damaging or disrupting the epidermal tissue (surface) of the skin.
What results can I expect to see with HIFU Body?
HIFU Body treatment destroys fat cells in the area being treated thus reducing the visible size of the targeted area. Some results may be seen approximately 1-2 weeks after treatment; however, significant results are usually seen after 4 to 6 weeks as the ablated contents of the fat cells are gradually flushed away via the normal blood circulation and lymphatic systems. Furthermore, the process of collagen and elastin synthesis, improving skin elasticity, tone and texture, continues for up to 3 months – on this basis it is recommended that follow up treatments, if required, are performed at least 3 months after the initial treatment. HIFU Body Sculpting is very effective for lifting and skin tightening.
How many sessions should I have and what results should I expect with HIFU face?
The beauty of HIFU is that the benefits of can be seen instantaneously, with optimum results expected after just 20 days or in some cases three to six months. The stimulating effect of HIFU promotes the synthesis of new collagen which will help your skin maintain its natural, youthful glow.
Unlike some non-invasive treatments which require a course of treatments over several months, HIFU generally only requires a single treatment. Results however vary from person to person. Occasionally a follow-up treatment may be required depending on your responsiveness to the procedure.
The most noticeable results should be seen within the first 20 days following the treatment. Further improvements may be gained for up to six-months and results can last up to two years.
It is however important to keep in mind that the ideal candidate is a person with good skin elasticity in their 40s to 50s with mild to moderate skin sagging of the face, neck or eye area.
Patients outside this age group or with more compromised skin quality may still benefit from the treatment but would often require 2 or 3 treatments and should expect less dramatic outcomes. Follow up treatments depending on the area and tissue thickness shouldn’t be done sooner than 2 – 6 months post to original treatment with the recommendation of longer rather than shorter period between treatments, in order to give skin and tissue the full cycle of collagen stimulation and regrowth.
